Today, Rebecca and I were “blessed in” to our role as elders in our local church, Sjaloom Heerhugowaard. It’s truly a privilege to work among the people of Sjaloom and together to expect great things from the Lord and His Church.
Today was also our last Sunday service before we return to the USA for a few months of speaking and fundraising. So we were both “blessed in” (ingezegend) and “blessed out” (uitgezegend) at the same time!
As a surprise “going away” present, the young adults of the church put together a Dutch care package for us to take with us to the U.S. What was in it? You know, just the basics: hagel slag, (real) coffee, (real) cheese, stroopwafels and “drop” among other things.
This day has reminded us how much we will miss our church these next few months and how good the Lord has been to us by putting them in our lives.
